Junior Student Leaders (age 12-14) participate in a streamlined version of the Student Leader programme which is based on a volunteer model rather than employment. They serve as leaders, mentors and role models for the younger children in their local community that attend the after school and summer clubs.
Junior Student leaders volunteer twice a week after school until around 6pm with their time divided between supporting our team in the after school club one day and tuition the other day. Junior Student Leaders are able to eat at the after school club on the days that they attend the programme as well as having access to trips and other opportunities with the Student Leaders. As young leaders they are mentored and supported as they grow academically, personally, and spiritually both for their own immediate benefit and as a pathway into the Student Leader programme when they are old enough.
All staff and children in our after school programme follow our SPIRIT values (Servanthood, Partnership, Innovation, Reliability, Inclusion and Transparency). As a Christian organisation we use Bible stories to share and teach these values, however we welcome children and their families from all faiths and none at all.
